The Friends will continue to raise funds in support of the library's operational needs. However, it has outgrown its present size. Both the building and the parking lot are too small to accommodate its growing patron's base.

To cope with this problem, the Friends established an endowment fund through the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF), a nonprofit organization, which sustains 1,000 endowments and partners with 66 counties, including Beaufort County, throughout the state of North Carolina. The NCCF supports a broad range of community needs, nonprofit organizations and institutions, and scholarships. It partners with 60 affiliate foundations.

The PLAN, or objective, of our endowment is to raise and accumulate sufficient monies, which the Friends hope to leverage through matching funds to meet the space needs of the library. Contributions to the FOBL Endowment can be made directly to the NCCF, as explained in the brochure shown below, or they may be made directly to FOBL.
